Asinine Crap.

What is this hold that technology has on us? This blog alone is proof that it has a hold of me. It's truly unbelievable. I don't think we ever stop and consider how odd all of it is. Technology stops us from living our lives! We sit for hours staring at a computer/tv/phone screen. It's insanity really! Instead of being out in the world experiencing life and the people around us, we sit around typing crap into a computer. Crap. Crap. Crap. Posting pictures of ourselves so people will comment and tell us how pretty we are, posting status' about what we're doing when no one else really cares, commenting on other people's crap so they'll comment on ours! It's all CRAP. Especially Facebook. I mean honestly, FB is just another way for us all to try and create some spectacular image of ourselves in the hopes that other people will applaud us for it. No, this isn't true for everyone... but just about everyone.
And the most frustrating thing about it is that I'm sucked in too! As much as I would like to think of myself as above it all, I definitely am not. And you would think that because I find the whole cyber world ridiculous, I could just stop. But I can't! Which leads me to believe that I am not the only one who has a love/hate relationship with the online world, especially FB!
So here is my pledge. I pledge to spend LESS time on FB than I normally do. I would say that I pledge to stay off it completely, but that would just be a bald faced lie... trust me, I've already tried. Not to mention I have a 365 Project to finish, and FB is how a lot of people contact me for photography jobs, plus I get a lot of information on bands, books, movies, etc from fan pages. Unfortunately, this day in age it is impossible to NOT be online... a lot. I just think it is such a negative force in all of our lives. I know technology has helped us in so many ways, but I feel like it hinders us in so many more.
So let's recap. I hate useless technology (like FB), but that will not stop me from using it. I pledge to stay off FB as much as possible and to stop posting useless status' (if not all... but we'll see how that goes.)
