Life isn't ever going to be perfect. The sooner you can remember that, the easier life will be... sometimes. It's days like today, when we celebrate the birth of our nation and our incredible freedom, that I realize that I am lucky. Regardless of the problems in our lives, I realize that things could be so much worse.

I think we are so much more resilient than we give ourselves credit for, not just as a nation but as individuals. We are given a lot of tests in our lifetimes, and while they may seem like the end of the world at the time, and while some are harder than others, we will get through it. Even if the end result is not what we would have chosen. The colonists went through incredibly hard times and yet through their trials and tribulations, look what came of it!
